Have tried to wade thru the forum to find answers to my question, but there's just too much info here, so please excuse if i am repeating some questions:
1. I've come across postings about a time problem on the phone. I don't seem to have that problem, the phone retains its time correctly. However, when it synchronises the calendar with Outlook, it seems to schedule all my appointments 30 mins ahead of the time I had scheduled in Outlook! Any ideas?
2. I agree completely with some of the postings about treating the P800 as a small computer rather than a phone. So I try and minimise data on the C drive and use the MS Duo as far as possible. Yet my phone crashes at least once a week, in fact more than. Any thing I can do to avoid that?
3. Is there no way to get predictive text to compose SMS in phone mode? It seems really cheap that such a fully loaded fone does not come with a dictionary.
4. I too find my USB sync very slow (esp compared to the Serial Sync in Palm that I used to use), but I'm not a techi so could not follow much of the replies posted. Can anyone help?
5. Can I download firmware upgrades? Or do I HAVE to take the fone to a service center?
6. I use an HBH60 headset. sometimes the call doesn't transfer correctly between the fone and the headset. For instance, If i am on a call on the headset and I have a call waiting, if i answer the call waiting, it goes to the phone!!
Can anyone help with these questions?

No way. Perhaps in a new firmware version. But I agree, it's cheap :-? :-?

In fact I wrote to SE about this and they came back with some crap as follows:
"To clarify, Model # P800 does not support dictionary function. It has soft
keypad for fast typing. You may however use the handset in flip open mode
and can use touch screen keyboard for writing messages."
I asked to escalate the issue within SE but of course haven;t got any response!!

1. Consensus this is to do with the PC and P800 not having exactly the same time settings, although 30 minutes is an odd offset. Check your DST and location settings on both devices.
2. Nothing you can do about it other than keep the amount of 3rd party software that "hooks" things (like buttons) to a minimum.
3. Agreed, and would be useful. I suspect that there is no port of the T9 logic into Symbian OS yet, it is not a terribly complicated bit of code, but it is a minature program that needs to read/re-read what you are entering. OK, if you use the flip-keyboard, then T9 makes sense, but consider how it might work with pen input -- I write "home" and the screen promptly changes this to "good"? (or indeed, "make mine a Smirnoff" -- try entering that last word into T9 and see what you get).
4. It isn't a USB, they lied to you. It is a serial port dressed up like one, that is one of the reasons it is slow. The second reason is that the Sync software is huge, ugly and utter crap. Microsoft would be proud of it.
5. Service centre or retail outlet like Vodafone or carphone warehouse etc.
6. Read the documentation very carefully and serveral times, it is not terribly clear and somewhat, er, "concise" about the subject. I got confused and gave up anyway on that one.

What about the Nokia 7650/3650. They have Symbian OS too (ok, version 6.0 but still Symbian) and they have T9 :-?

Btw, I spoke to a PR rep for Sony Ericsson and reported these problems to her. I e-mailed her a list of issues, she promised to get me in contact with the developers of the P800 and associated software! I will keep you all posted.
I also give her this URL, so she can keep track of these problems as we discuss them.

Re: the 30min offset problem with the Calendar when synchronising with Outlook got sorted when I upgrade the firmware. So it seems it had something to do with the older version of the firmware. FYI.
What was your firmware before and what is it now.

Is there anyway to get around this problem of a serial port 'dressed up" as a USB? Ive downloaded a driver for the DCU-11 as well as one for DSS-20, but haven't been able to install them yet. Will it work?
