Weird contact behaviour

I added a contact onto my P800 directly and am noticing some weird behaviour with regards to it:

1) If I edit the contact, the changes are not saved
2) If I try to delete the contact, the contact is not deleted
3) If I try to assign it to a speed dial, the speed dial stays empty
4) I made a copy of the contact which I can edit but also can't delete

I have firmware R1D.

Has anyone else had problems like this? If so, how did you fix it? Does a new firmware version fix it?

Thanks,
Mark

This is probably because you placed that contact on your speed dial and edited the details while this contact is on speed dial. You will also notice that the speed dial slot where you added that contact too will no be empty and you will not be able to add anyone there, is this correct? If it is, then you will need to restore your phone if you made a backup, if not, only a hard reset or an upgrade will solve this problem. Lots of thread about this here in this forum.

Actually I hadn't assigned it to a speed dial yet...I was trying to assign it.

I found a fix that seemed to work.

I did a full synchronization from my computer to the phone for the contacts (which made a thrid entry for the contact) and found that there were still the 2 entries that I couldn't delete.

My phone crashed a bit later (was playing around with it) so I had to do the 10 second shutdown process. I started the phone up again, found I could not delete the 2 undeletable entries and could assign the number to the speed dial.

Not sure why this worked but it did...
