Turned my phone off the other day and it won't start up anymore.
When I press the button to turn the phone on, the keypad lights up and the screen displays the nokia logo which fades, the logo is displayed again then fades....this happens about 3 or 4 times then the screen goes blank.
Have had the phone plugged in so believe it is charged.
Any tips short of taking it back to the shop and having them have a look at it? Any key combos i can hold down on startup etc?

this is what i normally have when my battery's are empty! Do you see a horizental line when the screen is turning off

If its new should be under warranty; so don't play around with it in case you void the warranty. Just take it back to the place you got it; usually they can arrange for a repair; if not then they'll refer you to the Nokia Repair Centre.
Did you recently install irRemote?

I installed and used the irRemote trial software, used it for about 5 mins then uninstalled - but that was about 10 days ago.

Ah okay, there are just rumours that irRemote seems to be killing some phones, with the exact symptoms you describe.
If you uninstalled it 10 days ago, I doubt it would be that though.

that horizental line is what i get when the power shut down (empty battery) !
maybe is your adapter broke?!
try using another adapter (maybe u can try it at your local phone shop, just ask if you allow to TEST not buy, the adapter there!)
or, like already said, send (t or d? 😊 )your phone back incl. the adapter to nokia.

Personally, the symptom doesn't sound like the battery isn't charged. If the logo fades out and comes back on, it still has power, not just cutting out straight away.

if it doesnt work try the reset code

i get a problem if my phone restarts.

remove the batterie and let the phone 1 to 2 days without any power suply?!. and then test it again.
