Has anyone used Virtual P.C. and the Nokia Software on a Mac. I have not played with it. And I am still waiting to be able to get the phone. So I was just curious if any one has had experience with this.
Virtual P.C.
Unfortunately it does not seem to work, I've tried using both the IR port and Bluetooth and I cannot make the link.
Hopefully you have MacOS X 10.2.5 which will enable you to link up via a USB Bluetooth adaptor. 😃 Although iSync support is still missing, for the moment anyway. :-?
Yeah I do, and I actually know someone with the phone, and was able to use my computer to get things to the phone, which was great. Well let me ask you some questions.
Can you use P.C. suite with windows 98, cause I have that on my computer at work, so if I ever really needed it I could use it at work.
What exactlly am I going to be missing if I don't have P.C. suite. What are it's benifits.
Well I have been wondering the same thing myself actually, Once iSync works as it should, the only thing that we'll be missing is the ability to play back video clips on the Mac . . . although thinking about it the Nokia software (which does install on VPC Win98 by the way) might install the codecs needed to play the Video files, not to sure on that one, I will give it a try.
Did you connect to your friends' 3650 via Bluetooth or IR?
I connected via B.T. It was great, I download some games for him, and that remote control program. Have you been able to get movies to your phone?
Yes I have managed to get some movies on it, it seems that a Quicktime Pro MP4 export does the trick, but only without sound, I'm still trying to find out what sound formats are supported. I have a 11 minute iMovie on my phone right now, just 2.3 megs! 😊
The only game I've found worth anything so far is Yahtzee and Triple Pop. The Gameboy emulator looks nice, but you need the ROMS.
My wife has a 3650 too, so the Bluetooth comes is handy for transfering pics and sound file, etc.
When are you thinking of getting your 3650?
Well as soon as Tmobile let's me buy it. You see they are only offering it to new customers. I was going to cancel and get it through at&t, however the feature's that don't let you have I kind of need. So hopefully begining of May, that's what tmobile is saying, I could buy an unlocked one but I would probably pay like 150 bucks more, and I just can't see doing that.
