ANSWERING MACHINE SOFTWARE

Well, in the UK pretty well all the service providers offer voicemail,
would this be what you are looking for?

I don't think that is what M&M meant. He (and me too) wants software (like there is for the Nokia x650). That way it won't cost you anything (only the software, NOT listening to the messages).

I've been hoping for this for a very long time too...

You mean software to control your voicemail -- like previous message, old messages etc?

I can see the point of that -- the embedded "online services" that Vodafone gives you is rather pathetic, and I can never remember what the button for "replay last 20 seconds" is!

I'm not sure if you understand me correctly. I mean something like this http://my-symbian.com/7650/applications/applications.php?faq=2&fldAuto=303

I see now, is actually what I thought first time round;
in UK this is all pretty much handled in VoiceMail,
which we do not normally pay for (even to listen to) on contract phones.

Actually does quite a lot more than the proram you pointed me too,
especially because it also cuts in if your phone it out of service
(like on the subway),
but would be better if it had a UI that sent the right touch tones downline
rather than having to listen to a menu and press buttons on the phone.

Suspect your providers in NL charge you less for line rental,
but more for calls and voicemail services...
yup, that was just confirmed by the Dutch that work here.

Swings and roundabouts me old china! 😊

So am I. Perhaps we could all mail them, so that they know that everyone is waiting for it...
