C#

Having just "converted" from C++ to C# I'm wondering if there are any plans to support development using C# (or any of the .NET languages) in the near future.

I'd guess at a no.

Visual C++ 6 was the last Microsoft product to be 'officially supported' by Symbian. They seem to have gone down the MetroWerks path now.

You can get VC++ .NET working with the Series60 SDK, but it's a pain - and there's no support for the wizard (+ it's not .NET).

With the world of mobile phones OS splitting between Symbian and Microsoft, I doubt very much that we'll be seing .NET enable devices from Symbian (not that you'll find many people bothered about that 😊 ).

You can use .NET to develop for CE and smartphone though (don't hit me! 😮ops: )

C++ and C# are totally different lanugages. Since Symbian has already moved away Microsoft tools, I'd guess they will never support C# in their platform. Not to mention of Nokia, Metrowerks, Borland and others who provide Symbian OS devices and development tools.
