What the hell is wrong with p800 batteri?

I bought a p800 for a week ago.. the first 2 or 3 days the batteri was good enough but now, after 5 to 6 hourse the batteri is empty without using the phone... Bluetooth is off, Screansaver is off, baggrund picture is off, power saving is set to 2 min., I removed the flip and it's with virtual flip...
What can be the problem? Please help, I hate my p800 now... 😞

This is certainly a lot worse than average.

The battery life of the P800 is poor, but not that poor. I could play Doom on my P800 for 6 hours with bluetooth on and still have some power left. Light usage gives me 24 hours at least, but probably not that much more.

You might try getting the battery replaced under warranty as they do seem to vary a bit. If you manage to get a replacement, I suggest you obey the instructions in the manual about charging it fully before using it.

Well, mine lasts 24 hours max, GPRS,is always on, Bluetooth discoverable, save power is off, the light is always on 😃

You should take it to SE service center, I think they will replace the battery -After testing it for 24 hours, in other words you have to leave it there 1 day :-? -

Good luck 😉

zeraw,
you did fully charge and unload the battery the first 3 times or so? Its standard prcedure for all rechageable devices. The battery take a cople of rechages to reach its full potential

How is your signal? My first P800 had dreadful signal, about 2-3 bars less than normal, this obviously put a big drain on the battery. I changed the phone and kept the battery. My last charge I got a bout 48 hours, with about 6 hours of talktime and heavy usage of stuff like solitaire.

Try a reset. I had a similar thing happen to me, I assume some program gets stuck in a loop and uses the processor so much it drains the battery. A reset certainly cured the problem with me. 😃

Thanks for replys friends... But nothing is working for me... I try to master reset but the problem is the same.. I tried to format the MemoryCard and reset the phone, but no luck...

I had a similar problem, one morning I had a fully charged battery and within 4 hours it was dead. The reason... applications running in the background. If you get hold of one of the task managers (either SMan or the one built into File Manager) and just make sure occasionally you close down applications your not using. Now the longest I've had out of one charge is 5 days and I still had 35% battery free. Worst app for killing battery I found was that mobile vb thing. I removed it straight away, recharged the battery and all was well again.

i was just wondering ... is it sony ericsson's policy worldwide to give one year warranty on phone + battery + charger ? that's how it is here in Bahrain ..
