Well it looks really nice, but how are we so sure that it actually will work on the P800. It is not mentioned in the article either. Perhaps there won't be P800 software for this card

well i belive it can be true

well we are taking about SONY dont we ??

11 years ago i was in japan and i sow the LCD TV it was smaller than a palm .. i didnt belive it then .. 😮ops:

so u come a tell me now that SONY & Ericsson will make a TV tuner on a memory DUO

well they can make it i bet they can

they better do 😉

A bit to farfetched to be true.
Makes no sense to stick it in a DMS when you have ports at the bottom of the phone like the camera on other phones, apart from that the DMS might have higher bandwith. Add to that the fact that there are lots of fake products, it says the NEXT pda from sony and last of all... if it truly was for p800 (current top of the line) there would have been hyped official announcements by now

What is the point watching tv on a PDA?

You might just get a portable TV for a lot less than an add on.

If the quality is good, why not. Also, why bring 2 gadgets :robot: when 1 will do. Lastly, it's cool 8)

But the reaction from people is another thing, thats why they rather sell and advertise these nifty gadgets in Japan rather than elsewhere. Sad, isn't it.

So, now where will I put the stylus? Hmm... Maybe they will sell a gadget that clips on to the bottom to hold the stylus, when the tuner's plugged in? Then maybe they can sell me an application for the P800 to remind me where I keep all the add-ons for the P800. :-?

I'm just cranky. I want it too!! :bday:

Yes, this could be true, but unfortunately this exact picture was taken from a non-functioning teaser model, and they have said it was only to stir attention. I've read it somewhere in a Clie online magazine (Cliesource or Clie Planet I think) around 2 months ago, and they said that Sony does not intend to produce such a memory stick.

Well, I hope Sony changes their mind though. 😃

I'd sell my right arm9 😉 for a hack/converter/whatever that lets me use more then 128Mb+internal mem at once.
Partitions on a 256 card or whatever.. just give me some frikkin storige space.

Does the picture not show a normal duo memory stick and not the MagicGate Duo? They are different and the normal duo doesn't fit the P800!

:silly:

Small correction:

DUOs fit the P800 and it doesn't matter if they are MagicGate or not - anyway, the P800 will use them as "normal" ones.

If they are not DUOs but simple, ordinary Memory Sticks (long ones), then they don't fit.

And by the way, this TV module sits definetely on a normal MS and not on a DUO.

Hi Urs,

I agree that the picture looks like a normal memory stick. However the reason that I know the sony memory stick duo doesn't fit is that I ordered a 64mb one from Dabs.com and it arrived and although it was smaller than the full size stick, it was twice the thickness of a magicgate 64 & 128mb stick. It really didn't fit??? I tried??? I'm now using dabs return policy to send it back and I am waiting for the usual answer - "we cannot refund as the item is damaged due to incorrect fitting". I've had this answer from them when the item that was returned was never taken out of the packaging - go figure

Cheers
