Voice recording and predictive tex messages problems????????

14 replies · 2,948 views · Started 29 April 2003

Need some help:

1. Cannot record a tel conversation when on the phone, but can record otherwiese.....any ideas???

2. How can I enable predictive text messaging, if at all possible??

I'm afraid;

1. It's not possible with the standard software. Hopefully someone will write an application to allow us to do that.

2. The P800 has no predictive text support at the moment. (Perhaps, at some point in the future, it'll come as a firmware upgrade, but I wouldn't hold your breath)

Hope that helps,
Aaron

I think that there is support for someone to write a T9 input system for the P800:

Try going to Control Panel, Text Input, scroll to the third tab. There is an option for "Flip closed input method", which currently has only "Multi tap" in the list.

I understood that there was an input plug-in architecture, am I incorrect?

Phil

Yes, that was my understanding too - but we have to wait for someone to write it 😊

Now, given T9 is a licenced product.. We have to wait for the licence holder or a licencee to write the input plugin - if I recall correctly, that's AOL, who have just become a Symbian 7.0 premier partner.. There was a post about it recently..

So, it might come out.. maybe.. possibly.. you know the drill 😊

i dont know but is it possible to pull out the T9 library & prog files from the T68i & install it in the P800?

can someone do that?

It would be very nice! I don't know of a way to access the OS files of the t68(i). If somebody does, it might be possible...

Trouble is, being AOL, it'll probably have banner ads 😉 😃

OMIGOD -- if you've installed IR Remote, then AOL could take control of your TV, music system, fridge or catflap at will,
and based on the insidiousness of the CD they give away, they will!

:microwave:

It's all part of the AOL plan to rule the world..

It's the same plan George W. has, it's just that he's doing it by systematically invading every other country - AOL is doing it by trying to bury every country under a pile of unwanted CD's 😃

Hmm - perhaps we could foil both, and make bombshelters out of AOL CD's..

I'm rambling now, I'll shut up 😊

Plus of course the AOL software will include 1000.0000 Spam messages and will broadcast your telephone and email numbers so that anybody can send you Spam SMS and MMS.

Then it will ask you to send them a message everytime you erase a Spam from the phone and it will take credit saying that they did it, since now that you called it's part of their records.

I'm switching to Earthlink T9 😃

I've just thought of something else -- AOL might not just stick with Banner Ads, but might also append a 150 character trailer to your SMS... :-?

i dont know if this is a possibility but

you can download an update for siemens phones directly connect ur phone to your comp & install the upgrade. This is a .EXE file but it contains T9 in different languages...can the T9 stuff be extracted & maybe re-configured to be used with the p800?

hmmm...maybe it can....maybe not!!!
