using nokia 7650 as an IR modem for my ipaq pocket pc

I'm affraid this just isn't possible. I have the same problem, I tried everything and searched everywhere on web but it just won't work, everybody seem to have the same problem. I've read that ipaq doesn't follow standards or something while 7650 does so that's why ipaq can't send data to 7650 via IR (unless you use some extra programs, but those programs can only transfer images and stuff, not work with modem). Since OS is made by Microsoft it doesn't surprise me one bit.

But if anyone know better, don't hesitate to tell 😊

u just make a new connection to a generic irda modem and it works fine

Which ipaq and Windows version do you have? Mine is 3630 and WinCe 2002 but it won't work 😞

i got an ipaq 3660 running pocketpc2002

then just turn on the modem in the connections part of the 7650
