Here is my experience with IrDA.
I bought IrDA brand BAFO. It installed well in my Win2K-Pro. B 4 I installed PC Suite for 3650, I tried testing the connection first, and the result was exactly the same problem (intermittent discovered/connection). Then I tried to installed PC Suite, hopping that the problem solved, but it doesn't. :x
At first I thought it was my PC that might has a problem, but when I installed it on another PC which has Win98SE, the problem still presist.
I had called NOKIA in my country, and they said that 3650 does have a problem with external IrDA. They suggest Bluetooth, and if we insist on IrDA, mean we have to use built in one (in Laptop/notebook).
I personally had tried IrDA connection from a notebook (my friend's one) and it works perfectly (the connection is very stable).
Until now I have not tried with bluetooth connection yet. But from what I heard is that, if we have bluetooth connection with a PC, we can surf the net directly from our 3650 via the internet connection established from a PC.
Luckily I managed to sell away my IrDA to my friend whose phone is 9210. 😉
i did it!!
but i am not so sure which method fixed it!!@
i changed the Infrared Tranceiver type to Vishay
(sys settings/IRDA settings/advanced)
from there, also reduce the speed and set the time to 1s.
but at the same time, i downloaded another driver for my adaptor from another company!
i think it should be the first one!!
yeap
i had the same problem and its solved
just change the settings of the adapter
from this - to this:
INFRARED TRANSCEIVER TYPE:
Vishay 6102F(Default) - Vishay 6101E
MIN. TURN-AROUND TIME:
1.0 mS(Default) - 1.0 mS(Default)
SPEED ENABLE:
4000000(Default) - 57600
