I am feeling so miserable, im living a nightmare. after 10 days of P800 perfect usage I destroy my phone's touchscreen. I put it in the back pocket of my jeans and something happend and I end up with a broken touchscreen. I live in Greece and they told me that I have few chances to get it fixed. They told me that its better to buy another one. I think I cry...(actually I've cried a lot)
Can somebody tell me if theres a solution?
The poor phone was working after the accident and only the areas of the screen that they were damaged didint work at all.
I am living a nightmare.
broken touchscreen/the nightmare
As I know, you have to send it to SE service center and they should be able to change the screen. If everything else is OK, I think there is a chance. You can try it.
Sympathies.
You will almost certainly have to send it away, and it is not cheap.
In consolation, you could threaten to sue SE, because they do not put a warning on the package -- this happened ages ago to Palm, where some American put the PDA in his back pocket and sat down. Sued them for not warning him that sitting on a small delicate glass screen may break it. I think he won too, because Palms now carry an explicit warning.
Hey, Intercourse_10, I think I've read somewhere on this forum that someone had the same problem and got a replacement screen from another member - who is most probably working for SE.
Obviously you didn't insure the phone, because then mine would be floating in the Themes already and I would have the case number from my local police station!
Search and you will find!

Summary of most phone insurance terms available in the UK:
We will insure your phone against accidental damage except
- the damage occurs to a breakable component such as screen, case, battery, arial (if fitted) or innards.
- the damage ocurs within the manufacturers warranty
- the damage was caused by a human or animal, or any form of solid object (animate or inanimate) or force of nature or act of god or an American.
We will insure your phone against loss except
- lost it by yourself through an act of negligence or stupidity on your part (such as putting it down somewhere, dropping it in a river or otherwise allowing it to part from you company by whatever means)
- you were in a bar, pub, car, private house or public place when the loss occurred
We will insure your phone against theft provided you did not encourage the theft by
- having the phone in your possession
- leaving the phone unattended
- having a phone worth nicking in the first place
We will insure your phone against breakdown provided
- we cannot blame the manufacturer
- we cannot blame you for actually using it
- we cannot blame the US military for bombing it
etc
Which can be neatly summarised as;
We will insure your phone, so long as it never gets stolen, lost or broken, and so long as you never actually claim.
And yup, I am that much of a cynic 😊
😃
Well said, Jules.
The sad thing is that I've already claimed once on my ''Vodafone 5-star insurance'' and they warned me that I can only claim one more time - then I'm on my own....
How did it happen? I lost my phone in a pub, phoned my local cop shop, got a case number, gave it to Vodafone shop (i didn't even go to the shop I bought it from!) and had a brand new phone in one hour. Not bad service...
:robot:
😮
And this is just a swop - don't even have to use my insurance!!
Dear Kingrob the name is UNdercourse_10 not Intercourse 😃
I think we lost the point of my message.
Yes it was a mistake that I treat P800 as a normal mobile (not insurance etc).
Anyway I just hope it can be fixed

Try and put a post on http://www.esato.com/board/viewforum.php?forum=35 for a new screen.
At least 2 people on that forum say they had a 'number' of screens that take hardly anything to fit....I think the price was around 50 euro approx
I dont know how to garantee you dont get ripped off maybe someone with experience of ebay may know.
Also try you household contents insurance
