got the app running quite happily on the phone but cant establish a connection over GPRS. The user guide says that a WAP gateway won't work so I went to 02.co.uk and found the settings for 02 Mobile Web but its still not playing ball

Anyone got this working or got any ideas?

Cheers

You need to call O2 and have GPRS-Internet added to your contract/sim - it's not bundled automatically anymore - and no longer available for paygo phones.

Cheers Will - though 02 are being as useless as usual - they insist that they only have GPRS WAP settings? and keep sending me these which don't work which is more than a little annoying - do you have the settings I can use?

You need to tell them clearly that you want Internet GPRS settings and not WAP over GPRS.. there's a big difference, although most support personell don't know this. I had a few problems with this as well.. but think details details details.. tell them details until they cannot possible give you anything relating to bloody WAP. :P

Also it's not a simple matter of putting the correct settings in your phone - they need to activate the service on your account too.

.

does tmobile support internet gprs? i dunno which one i have but i've been able to access stuff through doris and stuff, but i dunno.

Yeah - t-mobile does internet GPRS
Just use the wap GPRS access point and it normally works, and for the times it does not - copy the wap settings to a new access point and change the IP addy to 0.0.0.0 with the same APN.

that's great thanks. what i've been doing is just connecting to everything with the IP set to 0, it seems to work, like with oplayo, and doris and im+
