How much memory?

It says the P800 has 12mb internal memory. I want to know if it has RAM or something similar. Or does it just write to the 12mb internal memory when you run a program as temporary cache?
Im asking this because i get the exclamation symbol after quiting a game that i was playing for long period of time. Im guessing that is has to do with low memory

the p800 has 16mb RAM and 2banks of 16mb flash memory
