I'm about to go on a trip, and for some reason my Contacts won't load now! Not the best time 😞
-- I've restarted, no luck
-- I added File Manager and removed any background programs, no luck
When I pick a number from my recent call list, it wipes out any name it used from my contacts and leave the raw phone number afterwards.
Any ideas? Is there any upgrade or program that I need to install? Am I going to have to reinstall the whole system? Is that even possible?
😞
Liz, sounds like your phone needs a firmware upgrade or a replacement one.
I had problems when syncing my phone with the pc suite, because you need to configure your settings for synchronise properly, otherwise you might find some contacts erased from Outlook and vice versa.
If worse comes to worse, you can do a master reset and restore your contacts from Outlook.
I've always been a bit confused about firmware. Does that mean I need to send the phone off somewhere, or can I download a file and follow the instructions?
Also, I don't use Outlook. Is this the only way to store Contacts outside of the P800? I'll hook up Outlook and use it only for that, if that's the only way.
Thanks for the help 😊
Liz
I have a problem with Contacts - it wouldn't open due to 'Not enough Memory'.
Look for the thread Contacts Not Enough Memory (or similar name) that I started as quite a few suggestions were made to fix it.
Most involved using the last known good version of Contacts from a previous backup to replace the bad version in your current backup and then restoring the phone. Some people have been able to amend their back up files using winzip (It didn't work for me though 😞 so I am still stuck at the moment).
Good Luck 😃
