strange but the p800 call list always reset after shutting down the phone. Hope upgrade to R2D would have saved the problem but no luck. Any ideas? 😮
call list, why is it erased when shut down phone?
That is weird. I believe all the calls I made since I got the P800 (in february) are still there! And I've shut it off many times (off-course). Perhaps it's done by your provider...
Yip my are also all there.
And my phone been on and off alot. From power downs to crashes.
I cannot believe that it is the providers' fault, if it was it would do the same on my old t68, right? I was expecting the problem to stop when i upgraded to R2D however the situation remained as is. All calls are deleted when phone shuts down... 😞
Do your pull your Sim-card out pretty often? This might cause it too...
My P800 sometimes (not always) erases the call lists so at power on, sometimes the call list is totally blank. It happens about 10% of the time, I think it is software bug or when a combination of certain operations/programs opened prior to power off, but I cannot pin point it nor re-creat it at will.
Mine also erases the list on every power-off. I have R2D and until yestrday I thought this is the way it should be... I'll wait for the next firmware.

I dont think it is related to the SIM card, thanks
call lists are not a network feature, they are a phone feature. The thing that may be happening is that they are only saved during a successful proper shut down - so are you resetting the phone by holding for 10 secs or shutting down properly?
as i hv already mentioned i shut it down properly 😉 I find loosing my call list v annoying, since i was used to use it a lot in the past. Imagine that u r almost out of battery, your phone is out of reach and you receive a couple of calls that make it shutdown by itsself. When you go turn it on, you cannot see any missed calls, having people believing that you ignore them!!! 😞
How long have you had the phone? Try havng the firmware flashed again or if not return the phone...
All my call lists are still around. They have been deleted only during firmware upgrades. But after restoring, everything still there. Despite numerous on- offs, battery empty, crashes (10 sec), battery removal, sim removal, etc. I think it's more than a thousand on my list now. Hmm. maybe i should delete this list, could cause hanging (like the 9210). Probably will free up some memory too.
It is probably a problem with non-english characters. If your call list has non-english characters, the whole list will disappear if you turn off your phone. Otherwise, it is ok.
I have the same problem wit my p802 and I was wit Sony Ericsson Shanghai today and I found out I'm not alone. I guess this happen to the P802 due to Chinese charecter. I hv installed the latest os and hope this will solve the problem.
Will update soon
It's your phone, my brother had the same problem but cos we both had p800's we picked up on the fault, he ended up returning it for an 8910i (ponce).
Apparently (said the guy at cpw) some duff batches have made it out, but only a few ppl are picking up on the problem.
I am having the same problem. I am quite new in the "club". Using mostly Greek characters. But the list is gone even when english is used. Do you believe that it is a phone problem? Whom could we ask for a responsible answer?
By the way I am looking for a Personal Finance Manager. I have found Mastersoft Mobile interesting. Do you have any other suggestions?
Tried to test it using only English characters on the list, then shut down, restart, the list was there, but when did that a couple more times, list gone again 😞 . As for personal finance try Jabp -freeware.
