I thought I read that somebody got better picture quality in CommuniCam after an upgrade. Is this true? I have searched, but cant find the post anywhere.
My firmware is:
Phone: CXC162002 R1D
Btooth: CXC12529 R2C
Org: CXC162001 R1G05
CDA: CDA162002/7 R3A01
Also... Sometimes the CommuniCam just shows the SE logo, and not the viewfinder image, even though when you take the picture it does take a picture... if you see what I mean.
Any ideas?

The quality is a bit better after the upgrade, not much, only in darker circumstances it's really improved(with night-mode).
About the Logo in the viewfinder image, that's a known bug. Turn the phone off and on again and the logo has disappeared. Not sure if this was fixed in R2D though

Yes, the camera has been improved in the R2D/R2F firmware. You got the R1D firmware, thus, no camera improvements.
I found that the logo was only displayed when memory was running low. Once I uninstalled a large app, the problem went away.
Same here. I suspect that running the real-time imaging takes stack loads of memory [ha, techie joke!] and if you don't have enough then it gives a Sony logo instead.
That seems to make sense, but I always keep at least 5Mb of internal memory clear, and my Duo's got nearly 11Mb free.
I'll try a few tests and post back.
Thanks guys
Nah, still working even with EVERY application open and only 1Mb free on the C drive.
I wonder if it's something to do with bright natural light? Both times I've used it have been very sunny days (unusual here).
I have around 1.8MB, working fine, it comes up once a real blue moon so I don't get quite bothered just irritated. BTW, I first experienced it after I upgraded to R2D, could it be the firmware perhaps?
the logo bug hasnt been fixed yet, even on the R2D.
