N-Gage and 3650, just how close are they?

Just been looking at the N-Gage specs and it would seem to be very similar to the wonderful 3650, the only difference that I could spot is the inclusion of a DSP for Audio.

This begs the questions . . .

1. Could the N-Gage be my next Nokia? 😉

2. Will games made for the N-Gage require very little reworking in order to run on the 3650?

What to you think? 😃

Also:

N-Gage: no IrDA, no camera, FM Radio MP3 music player (with USB connectivity for that), exclusive games titles on MMC (MMC distributed games will not work on other Series 60 devices, but N-Gage also runs any J2ME or Series 60 applications that run on other Series 60 systems).

3650: IrDA, camera, no FM Radio

The N-Gage will run anything a 3650/7650 will run. It has an advantage in the MMC slot (which will take non-standard MMC style cards that hold the 'Nokia Badged Games'😉 so those MMC games won;t run on the 3650 for example.

But OPL and C++ applications will work fine. Not that I've tested Vexed on one already or anything...

So what we have then, in the N-Gage, is a beefed-up 3650?

Do I take it that there is no extra horse power, for the 3D games and such?

It is not necessarily so. Published information does neither support nor refute such a conclusion.

No,7650 had a 5way Button as well as the 3650! Just up,down, left, right and push. The n-gage has also up-left,up-right,down-left and down-right!
no 7650 does hav a more direction control cos its 360 degree
The joystic may move around in a full circle, but it isn't analog & has only four directions (up/down & left/right) + pressing down that is registered = 5-way operation.
One Major Difference is that the 3650 has a 5way-button and the n-gage has a 9way-Button.
In actual fact the n-Gage is a 5 way button, with 9 way emulation possible in software. IE your code picks up if both UP and LEFT are pressed at the same time and reports it as UP-LEFT - there isn't a seperate switch for UP-LEFT under the D-Pad.
anybody know what the processor speed etc is?

From Forum Nokia's N-Gage FAQ:
2.6 Does the Nokia N-Gage game deck have additional graphics hardware?
No. There is no graphics co-processor in the Nokia N-Gage mobile game deck. The Nokia N-Gage device has a relatively speedy CPU for a mobile device (104 MHz ARM925).

so we could play the games if we copied them to a standard MMC. right?
the only real problem i see is that NGage is horizontal and it has a lot more buttons.

the n-gage have irda
and bluettoth look the featuring of the n-gage please
and look the n-gage is performing from 3650 some game will work on the n-gage and 3650 mgs karting will work
you can put mmc normaly in the n-gage
the n-gage have the same performance from the 3650 but no camera only
the n-gage have irda
There is no infrared (IrDA) port in the N-Gage.
so technically our luvly 3650 is better?
That's a matter of opinion.

What the 3650 has & the N-Gage doesn't: Camera, infrared.

What the N-Gage has, but the 3650 doesn't: FM Radio, MP3 player, stereo sound, exclusive games, better DSP (Digital Signal Processor), better internal loudspeaker.
