Hello all,

My P800 was working fine and all the suddent the screen started fading and the unit went off, and ever since it did, pressing the power button has one effect, it will vibrate a bet then nothing happens, no splash screen and no enter pin screen, has anyone experienced this before? What is wrong and is there anything I can do to fix it? By the way this is my second set of P800, the first one died two days after arrival and now this one lasted 4 months but it sounds like I am on my way to the third set
Might sound silly, but is it charged???
Not silly at all, people do commit such stupid mistakes but mine was fully charged, I even got the power cable attached to it with, still no hope, I even tried putting it on the cradle while the power cable was attached to it and still no pulse

I had EXACTLY the same problem! I tried leaving the battery out over night, in the morning tried it and it came on but was really really slow, took about 3 mins to open the apps menu, then locked up and didnt work ever again. I rang Orange UK and they replaced it same day, but they had no idea what was going on, looks like we the only two so far! Should be able to get it replaced hopefully!

That what happened to my P800 1 hour ago! exactly the same!!
I've tried 1000 to turn it on with no success, suddenly it worked :O

it said that it will be reformatted :-? Format is the only mothafu*kin' option, I pressed Ok and it was formatted
I lost everything  Contacts, SMS's, MMS's everything on the phone! :x :x :x

but I don't give a sh*t! it is working now 😃

So... Keep trying ! it will work, leave it for 30 mins and try again.

Good luck 😉

No luck, I will take it for replacement tomorrow and the service center can waste all the time they want on it but as for me I've given up on it

They can fix it by installing a new software, as simple as that 😉

The manager at the service center told me that they tried to flash it with new software but the phone was dead as a rock, no response whatsoever!!

Ohh Well, I know I am getting a replacement for free but I am unhappy with the fact that there are many unreplaceable documents on that old set that I won't be able to get back  But life goes on 😃

since mine did it i set the backup program to remind me one a week, i lost loads of stuff! Not again!

Just got my P800 a week ago. So far no probs and i hope it stays tht way. Anyway, best of luck with urs.

I had EXACTLY the same problem yesterday. Sudfdenly screen faded and didn't want to start up. Tried this morning again, somehow was able to startup but the same thing happened again few times. I managed one time to perform master reset (as I thought it might be a problem caused by some programs I installed), but even after that I still get these problems. I don't know what to do other than going back to SE. My phone had BTW still the old firmware 1B.

I brought my P800 to SE "Service Centre" here in Hong Kong.

Mainboard seems to be malfunctioning. However it was not under guarantee because they said that it was not officially imported by SE Hong Kong. Now they wanted to charge 500 USD to repair a 2 month old phone!
F%#K you SE! The phone is still SE not a Nokia! So who else is responsible for guarantee??

As soon as Nokia launches a comparable phone, I will switch immediately!
