suddenly found that when I want to write text messages all that I am able to get is numbers and no option to change to letters via the ABC button!
Any one got any ideas how to fix this?

Have you ever considered to search the forum? There is a similar one in the 3650 forum created today!

Pal,sometimes there's no other way. If nowthing else work then you'll have to hard reset. Is not that bad, just make sure you backup any critical information stored in the phone.
Erm... I thought the # key switched between letters / CAP's / numbers when writing text. Press and hold # and it should switch numbers to letters.
The ABC key allows that too as well as entry to other options.

nope! but needless to say i wont be putting wildskinz on my phone again!
