First of all the Blue Monkey USB Adaptor does work with Nokia PC Suite, it's the XTNDConnect Blue Manager software supplied with the dongle that's rubbish.
Instructions of how to get it running:
1. Uninstall Blue Manager software completely and any other Bluetooth software you may have.
2. Restart the computer (remember to unplug the blue monkey from the usb port)
3. Download the MSI Software
http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/bt45.exe
4. Install the MSI Software and restart your computer.
5. Go to C:\Program Files\Microstar\Bluetooth Software\bin\btwusb.ini
6. Open that file with notepad and edit the following line.
Change VID_0DB0&PID_1967 to VID_0a12&PID_0001
Change VID_0DB0&PID_ffff to VID_0a12&PID_ffff
There are two instances of each of them so change them all. These entries are to allow windows to detect the blue monkey device that you plugged in.
7. Save the file and plug in your blue monkey into the USB port and the system will try to find a driver file.
8. Tell the driver wizard to select C:\Program Files\Microstar\Bluetooth Software\bin\btwusb.ini
12. Windows should install the necessary driver.
13. Restart the system again and open My Bluetooth Places desktop shortcut.
14. Do a search for devices by clicking on Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood and you should see your phone.
15. Install Nokia PC Suite and restart your system.
16. Right click on the grey mrouter icon in your system tray (next to your clock in the bottom corner) and select properties.
17. Select your bluetooth com port (mine was COM4).
18. You should be prompted for a connection password on both your PC and your phone.
19. That should now be connected and you should be able to run PC Suite without a problem.
I solved that problem just by tweaking the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0004
In this key folder, you'll find another key, named:
"AcceptOther" <-- that (on those that cannot send files is set to '0x0000000'😉
Just set this key to 0x0000001.

Thanks MaleBuffy!
I had the same problem as Spycorfu.
But now everything works fine 😃
I lost my original disk that came with my bluetooth blue monkey dongle, and downloaded the drivers n software. this didnt work... the XTMD manager (or wateva it's calleD), just opens, shows the icon in the system tray, and closes again. no idea what's goin on, and cant be bothered to figure it out. ima do what you've mentioned up above, and hopefully will have better look with the new software!
Thanks, i was looking for a solution, and you've told me of one.
Thanks again
I had the same issue with my 6600, but my bluetooth adapter was a generic one (could find a manufacturer name on the thing). The registry tweak helped MSI recognize the adapter. Thanks for the pointer.
