Problem to install PC suite on my computer

3 replies · 4,830 views · Started 09 May 2003

I am using XTND connect to synchronize my old ericsson t39m with outlook 2002 via bluetooth on my laptop under windows Xp and it works just fine. I have now since 3 days a new P800 and I am unable to install the PC suite on my PC.
I always get a message telling me that another program has been intalled/desinstalled since the last reboot and it asks me to reboot my Pc in order to finish the last intallation and the installation process stops by its own. Of course no result at all when doing this.
I tried to remove the Ericsson Communication Suite R4A for T39m (the one using XTND) but without any success, same message
I also went on the official sony-ericsson site to download the latest version of the PC suite : 1.4.2FR as I am french speaking but there again no result and same old boring installation warning message :x
Can anyone tell me what to do or did anyone have the same problem ?

I am not an expert in windows registry, but I was thinking that the problem could be originating from there...
Thank you for the help

I had the problem for a month, could never get it to install - same message you're getting. This finally worked:

I think you have to see your Windows registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\windows\currentversion
and see if the keys RunOnce and RunOnceEx contain programs that are trying to run unistallation procedures. If there are such programs, you should delete references to them.

Please remember to make a backup of your registry before you try to change anything.

Thank you BVH I installed the software on my PC and cancelled all and it just worked fine. 😃
