I had some problem with the WAP application one day and I deleted the app from the Control Panel. When I try to re-install the WAP 4.13 from www.forum.nokia.com, the installation always fail and display a uninformative message "Access denied". I think the removal of the app was not complete but the new installation is not intelligent enough to overwrite some files or directories, or may be some files are opened. I have tried removing all WAP related files manually using the File Manager but the same problem still occurs.
Can somebody help? I don't want to reformat my whole 9210 just for this little WAP app. Thanks!
Sometimes you have to remove a program "twice" to clear out all the files, before you can reinstall it. To check to see if this is the case look in the list of installed programs, it might be listed at the top (where you havent noticed it) as a 'Partial' install - just remove the rest of the Partial WAP installation and that should do the trick. Hope that helps.
Oh, I forgot to mention that. When I tried to remove the "partial"ly installed app. There is a message "Problem removing 'WAP browser' Access is denied". My MMC card is not password protected and none of the files are hidden or read-only. So... any other clues?
Have you tried restarting the machine (taking the battery out) - that might clear it?
Yes, I have tried restarting it several times. I have even tried removing all files relating to WAP app. I have tried re-installing All_memory_card_data_Apac.sis from Nokia forum. But the installation always fail halfway. Really run out of idea.
