I'd like to announce the release of Bemused version 1.6, which now includes support for the P800. Bemused is an application which allows you to control your PC's music collection from your phone, via Bluetooth.

You can do the following, and more, with Bemused:

[list]Browse your music collection on your phone
Play files in any format supported by Winamp - including MP3s, CDs, MIDIs, etc.
Control Winamp versions 2 and 3, Windows Media Player and PowerPoint Viewer
Pause, stop, rewind, fast-forward etc.
Add songs to the playlist and use shuffle and repeat
Browse and select songs in your playlist
Download songs to your phone
Customise the look of the system with skins
[/list:u]
Bemused is freely available from http://www.compsoc.man.ac.uk/~ashley/bemused and is open source software.

As this is the first release for the P800, there are some known bugs and omissions... these are detailed in the README file included with the program.

Enjoy!

great - but I cant get it to work.. 😞

just says 'refreshing list' - then 'Command timed out'...
anyone got an idea what Im doing wrong?

(win XP pro with MSI BT dongle and latest drivers)

There are several possible causes of this problem. Are you sure you're running the Bemused server on the right COM port? If you press the "Find" button in the Bemused server window on the PC, it should list the possible COM ports to use. If more than one is listed, try changing the "COM port" edit box to a different port and pressing the "Connect" button. Then select "Refresh list" in Bemused again.
