When I got my 3650, the Video Recorder was fine...
I downloaded the .SIS file to upgrade to the version with sound... and it worked OK 1st time....
Since then others have been playing with it I think and now I get an error message and can't even get a 'picture' anymore.
When I select Video Recorder > Options > Record - I get the following message:
Video Recorder on stand-by:
Open cover
and then it goes back to the completely blank Video Recorder screen.
Any ideas? 😞
Have you tried uninstalling it.
If the problem goes away, try reinstalling it..
Make sure your putting on the one for the 3650 and not the 7650..

I've tried Uninstalling & re-installing several times by several different methods - Using PC Suite to install it and by transferring the .SIS file to the handset and installing from the handset and still get the same message. Have even re-downloaded the .SIS file from Nokia to make sure I had the correct version. Still get this 'Video recorder on stand-by: Open Cover' message...
It sounds like you've installed the 7650 version by mistake - the "Open cover" is referring to the 7650's slider, which covers the lens.
Make sure you're installing the 3650 version.
Well unless the title of the download file called:
"Nokia_3650_Video_Recorder.SIS"
is misleading, then I think I have the correct version. Just removed the application, re-downloaded and re-installed it again.... still no joy!

better for you to download this one and i hope that this will rectify the issue that you're experiencing.
Strange - never heard of this problem before..
Perhaps there is another application running on your phone already which is interfering with the camera.
How you recently installed any other kind of cam software??
If so try uninstalling that.

Here's the file I installed on my 3650... it works fine.
if after doing this things and you still experience such issue, check with the SW version that you're using. if it's 1.34, then this is a common one, better to bring your phone to the service center and have it diagnose.

I did actually also install 'Handy Day' & 'Handy Safe' so if the links you so generously provided do not do the trick then I'll unistall everything and then start again from Video Recorder...
If nothing works then it's back to the service centre.... I'm beginning to think that 'something' has flicked-a-switch in the handset and it is knackered...

Oh, and btw, the Camera itself is still working fine.... it is only the Video Recorder that I have the problem with.
Ok Problem Solved.
Last night I un-installed Video Recorder Update, Handy Day & Handy Safe.
Lo & Behold the Video recorder started to function again. I then re-applied the existing 3650 Video Recorder .SIS file that I had and it now works correctly with sound.
Therefore I assume that the problem lies within Epocware's Handy Day or Handy Safe but I Have not tried to re-apply them to see which one is the real culprit.
