GPS locator on P800 ?

Is there a GPS locator on P800 ? I thought, it is US government requirement that all new phones must be equipped with GPS locators to help 911 operators to trace the location of the caller ?

Why would they need that? All the operators can do this by simple triangulation from nearby transmitters. They do this for the emergency services as a matter of routine.
Of course, a GPS signal is available where mobile signals aren't, but then you wouldn't be able to make a call...

Indeed.

And no, the P800 has no GPS receiver.

There is a program called miniGPS, which confuses people a lot - but the only thing that has in common with GPS is the name. miniGPS simply shows you which cell you are currently connected to, and lets you assign names to the cells (along with a bunch of other features).
