Got my orange bill this morning.........156 😮
im on the 20 quid tarrif, and hardly ever use the phone for wap/net or calls.
Im very pissed off, although it does say in the itemised bill that i sent 900 texts, so maybe that explains it but its the phones fault for makin me send so many.
does anyone else have any problems with sending 2 many txts, ie over 800 a month?
what can i do to keep my bill under 60 ??? is there no way i can get free unlimited txts from sumwhere? plz plz help me or il become bankrupt.
I'm sure the phone didn't say "yes you must send text messages". Perhaps a little self-restraint is in order?

If you think you're going to be sending that many texts, might be worth changing to a O2 and buying bundles of 'em in advance. Cheapest tariff is 15/month, then add 800 pre-pay texts (the max you can get) for 32.
Dunno if Orange will be too keen about you changing network tho
What ever happened to good old fashioned talking to people on a phone???
You might want to have a look at http://sms-send.net/forum/ . They claim to reduce the cost of SMS, although GPRS costs might go up.
Have the same prob every month i come up to atleast 800 to 1000 txt msg ohh well i still love my p800
How on earth do you people send that many texts? You must just sit there texting constantly all day....
I remember the old BT advert
"It's good to talk"
Perhaps BT should do a revival with a "It's good to text" slogon for their O2 network lol
i don't like texting with my P800 cuz of the keypad and i always have to use the stylus that's why i always call! it spares a lot of money !!
O2 monthly tariff also includes 500 free texts.... plus 500 free wap minutes - I use most of the texts but its the wap that makes it worth it for me specially now I use itraffic.

Past 2 months I have had 2 300 Orange bills.
Try using over 100mb of GPRS. That certainly helps. Hopefully a little lower this month.

Sure u all know about the 30mb/month for free orange GPRS deal.
But have you heared that in next few months there is likely to be a new "all you can eat" GPRS tariff. I've been told by Orange CS rep that for about 45/month subscribers will get 100mb/month GPRS. Doesn't help with the texting unless you use the SMSsend app the send sms over the GPRS network via ICQ.
O2 do the online 200 tariff, thats 200 mins talk, 500 text or 120 MMS, 500 mins WAP and 2mb GPRS. May look at that in August when my 30mb/month free ends 😉
I just had a 200 bill, of which 104 was one phone call.
In the remaining 30 pages of itemised listing, 45 was calls and SMS whilst ROAMing, and about 30 on out-of-scope calls and SMS,
and er, none on data -- all fits within my free allocation.
About 8 was on GSM data, which I've now routed through GPRS this month.
So, all seems relatively reasonable to me; but this is Vodafone.
Are you sure you all want to stick with Orange?
