😮[/quote]But they arent "small" in the same sense as downloadable games are. N-Gage games are supposed to come in 8MB or bigger MMC cards. That gives developers plenty of room for more advanced gameplay, graphics and sound.
But I agree thats its going to be interesting to see how mobile phone users will react to those prices, they are used get their games for a few dollars or completely free (pirating..).
You've actualy got a few markets.
There's the big games at $30, coming to you on specially adapted 8mb and 16mb MMC cards. These are the games Nokia is pushing just now, and tryoing to get Development Houses signed up to. In other words, equivalent to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance pricing and style.
The second market is the tiny 40K Over the Air applications written in Jave. The games (similar to what they push now) should be under $5.
Thirdly, you have the "PDA Games" witten in C++ and OPL that you currently downloa over the net and install on the x650 phones.
In my mind, I think it's a mistake for Nokia to concentrate on the big games - they've said we can only expect 10 games at launch, with another 5-10 games by Christmas. Personally I'm expecting to have 4 or 5 of my own games ready for the launch of the nGage, and I doubt I'm alone. What other new console could launch with over 200 apps at launch with the majority of prices being $5-$10.
Perhaps Nokia don't want peopel to realise they can get cheap games online...
Never bought a handheld gaming console because didn't want to pay big bucks for those funny little men running through small and fuzzy display.
nothing beats xbox or ps2 when it comes to gaming however, inspite of this, i still would like to have N-gage. cool stuff!

Hand-held games consoles aren't even supposed to be comparable, because you can't take your Xbox or PS2 with you on your school or work trip. Consider that your train is 30 minutes late because of a traffic jam. The same can happen at airports and many other places where people wait for something. I think it will very tempting to have N-Gage in your pocket in this kind of everyday situations.
As far as I've understood, N-Gage will have a radio off mode ("flight mode"😉, so you can play games in airplanes too. For some reason Nokia 3650/7650 don't have this feature built-in (although you can get this feature separately).
But US$30-40 (or 30-40 ) for this kind of games sounds a bit too expensive. And if you get a spontaneous desire to play for example at bus station, will you get N-Gage games there? I doubt not. There should be downloadable games for these situations.

N-gage Is Cool Stuff I Can't Deny... But Check Sony's Psp... If You Buy It In The Japanese Version You Can Download Games Free With A Single Memory Card :d ...
