I have read much hype over these phones and have been told that they are being shipped, however I cannot seem to buy one in the UK. Does anyone know of a supplier, also does anyone know if Orange are going to release a "e" version
can I buy a 7650 in the UK?
hmm
i have seen them on online shops like mphone and all. serach it up
I'm sure that you can, most of the UK user i know used to own or still own a 7650.
of course.. its available in UK.. they're using the same frequencies as ours here.. 😃
Actually, they are becoming increasing rare in the UK - most networks and shops are no longer selling new 7650 phones.
Strangely, Orange are still selling the phone for new contracts, but not for upgrades (it is currently the only Nokia phone in their line up not available as an upgrade).

Has anyone actually checked the age of this thread? 😮
😮
how did that get here??
Yeah, I saw the age of the original post, but still felt it worthwhile to respond to the claims of availability in the UK, given it's actually not easily available anymore.
Steve
Yep...it's ironic don't you think...this time last year people were saying they can't get it because it's not widely available yet, and a year later, people are complaining again because it's being phased out. :-?
Even worse than that, at the moment you can't buy a Symbian phone from Orange (as an upgrade) at all.
The 9210 went a long time ago, the 7650 went a few months back, and they are yet to release the 3650.
As for whether and when they will add the Siemens SX-1 or the 6600 (and how long after the main manufacturer release) is a whole new discussion.
At least they were the first operator with the SE P800 in the UK.
Steve
(For Orange read Orange UK, as I appreciate things are different in other Orange countries)
Strange that Orange (UK) haven't released the 3650. I have used my Orange SIM in my 3650 many times, with absolutely no problems. Maybe it's something to do with Line Two, and Orange specific features, but even so, they can get it working on the 7650, so I wouldn't have thought it were too hard for the 3650 either.
Orange quite often take their time with certain models.
Apparently (read in the 3650 forum here I think) Orange released it for one day a few weeks back, but have now removed it from sale again.
I suspect this is due to the new Orange SPV E100 being launched around now, and they want this to be the main smartphone available for at least a while.
I do believe they have the 3650 as Coming Soon though, so it may well be a marketing issue more than any technical issue.
Steve
That sounds about right.
Although I think I read a thread somewhere in the 3650 forum that Orange are never releasing the 3650.
Although I suppose it does make sense for Orange to release the SPV before the 3650, cos after all, who'd want an Microsoft SPV if there's a new(ish) Nokia Symbian phone available at the same time from the network?!

I suspect it's just like mobile phone shops saying a phone has been withdrawn due to bugs simply because they don't have stock, and want to sell you something they do have in stock.
They will sell it, just not yet 😊 [Probably just after everyone else starts selling the 6600]

I suspect you're right. Foolish move by Orange if they don't sell it, I think.
Anyway, we're going horrendously off-topic here... 😉
