I'd quite like to play windows media player files on my P800 is that possible with yet with any player out? i'd quite like to take that smug smile off some SPV owners who feel they have a superior phone which in most cases is easily done with a swift punch to the ribs.
What about WMA?
I'm sorry, no WMA players yet....
Well, if you look at the name you kinda get the answer:WMA, WINDOWS media audio
ie Microsoft controls the format any way it likes. Microsoft has already stopped VirtualDub from decoding ASF streams and with vague references to DMCA any other developer can be scared from wrighting a WMA decoder. Besides that, hat you would want with WMA is beyond me.
*Mp3 beats it at any bitrate above 128, ogg/vorbis on ANY bitrate and ACC/mp4 on most.
*WMA cant be converted to other formats
*Its not crossplatform
For more of the same check the WinAMP rant http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=d65a2c3a9953e7f3d076e22f30b748d0&threadid=81838
The SPV guys who are so smug about being limited to crap instead of the way more neat oggPlay http://www.geocities.com/p800tools/ just deserve what they are stuck with..
Repeat after me: Ogg with Closed flip support,
Ooooo cool, well i'll have 2 rip my cd's again, but if you could elaborate more on ogg or link me in the right direction it'd be appreciated.
