Sorry if this has been asked before, I have had a search with no luck. Could I use a .amr file as a ringtone? I converted an mp3 to amr with the multimedia converter, i'd like to use it as my ring tone. Any ideas how?
Cheers,
Tommy

Yes AMRs can be used as ringtones, simply go to profiles and you'll find your ringtone where you pick the ringing tone with an .amr extention ofcourse. (WAV is better though!)
yup! 😊 is right! you can use it with no issues at all. .wav is really far better than .amr however the file is kinda bigger esp if your using using N7650 that only has 3.6mb.
i used dietmp3 to compress the mp3 then converted the mp3 to amr. 3 minute songs are only 257kb! Pretty good quality aswell. saves space, no need for mp3go or even large mp3's.
where do i get thr multimedia converter? is it a freeware? TIA!
its freeware from forum.nokia.com. theres a post already about it.

Sorry...i have absolutely no idea what you mean. In profiles i can only pick the default ringtones?
are u savin the sound clip after sending it to ur inbox? profiles wont find it if its in ur inbox. hopefully this helps. otherwise cud be a software fault or cross between to apps. lets hope not.
you have to save the .amr files in your recorder for the profiles to see them.
