I am not a Nokia 9210i user but I am thinking of buying it in the next 48 hours. I need help from the fellow member in this forum for some advise.
01. Does 9210i can be converted to GPRS with some software patches ? Heard lots of rumour about it.
02. I am a Clie T665 user and use Mac Powerbook G4. Is it possible to convert all my contact database and my past appointments in Clie to 9210i. Is it possible for 9210i to synchronize with the ical of powerbook G4. Is the synchronize software easy to use ?
03. Hear lots of rumours on new 9210i..can any one shed any lights ?

Tks in advance.

Sorry to say NO to all of your answers.

The 9210i uses only HSCSD (faster than GPRS for me) or normal data call.

The mac isn't supported so sync would be hard (impossible?).
You could sync your clie with a windows box and transfer your data again fromt he windowsbox to the 9210i

There are devices like the 9210i planned by Nokia (2 of them).
It is said that 1 could be expected later this year.

Let me clarify your response...

HSCSD is high speed data transfer for GSM but you need to dial up to ISP to connect to internet for e-mail and browsing while in GPRS, you can be "always on" mode. So program like ICQ is not usable in this instant.

So there is no synch program directly for OSX to 9210i ?? Hence 9210i only support window ? What about excel file created in OSX ? meaning I would be in pain to own 9210i for not able to back up my data or synch with my Mac.

Yes..I had search the net for the replacement of 9210i and it seems what you mentioned is true. I was asked by a retailer to hold on to the purchase because he said that the replacement is "near the corner".

Tks for the info Dazzle.

if it is a "normal" excell file it will work 😊
I can use icq but as you said I have to dial up before I can use it 😉

Today a Mac sync for all the other symbian phones was launched but not for the 9210 😊 so if you can wait, wait a bit longer 😊

anyway to convert the contact in my palm OS PDA to the 9210i ? Is it going to be a painful exercise for the migration ?
