Hey guys, I know it was posted 1000 times before, but it worked for all of you!
Just got my MSI BT Adaptor, I cant connect the damn thing to the PC
I saw the P800 FAQ topic, i've followed the steps, and it still not working
Everytime I try to connect, an error msg appeared 😮 -The remote device closed the connection- WTF! and it doesn't reconnect (as said in the FAQ topic)
so... where is the problem ?
Please help
Thanks 😉
What are you trying to connect? Do you mean the serial connection?
Remote device closed the connection is often normal... My Bluetooth Places wont say its connected, but if you enable the two ports in Connection Manager (one for connecting, one for syncing), you should be able to sync anyway.
Well, this is what happened to me, and I could sync fine and use my wired internet connection, though the connection would drop randomly, sometimes after ten minutes, sometimes a couple of hours.
Thats really funny, I also get the dropped connection error yet the mrouter connects. But my friend who has an epox dongle can really get a connected serial connection. Weird.
I have an MSI bluetooth adaptor and it works (almost) perfectly.
Have you clicked on the "phone connection link" icon in ur systray and ticked all of the checkboxes?
They are checked except one 😮 it says that the port is in use :-?
I've MSI too 😮

When that happens with the USB cradle it usually means that there's a conflict with another device (driver installed, but device not currently connected) using the same COM port. For example a phone as a modem over an IR connection.
This could be the same sort of thing. Since the serial connection is initiated from the PC, this means the BT software could be trying to use a COM port allocated to another driver. In which case the connection would never get as far as the actual BT hardware, not to mention your phone.
Do you see any kind of response on the phone when you try to set up the connection from the PC? I.e., does the BT icon on the phone change, even momentarily?
It works now!! 😃
But I can connect using the mRouter only :-?
My friend has another BT Adaptor, he can connect to the phone using the BT software ( By going to My Bluetooth Places, P800 Bluetooth Serial port ) it works ! :-?
WHat's the problem with mine?
Thanks guys!! 😉

Same here. Only Mrouter connects. I am currently looking for the Epoz bluetooth dongle sicne my friend has that and it works for him.
I've got an Epox dongle. The only way I can reliably connect is by double clicking on the Bluetooth Configuration icon in the task bar and then again on P800 Bluetooth Serial Port. When I say reliably I don't mean that it works every time, just that it always works if I try it several times.
After the connection is made I do get an error message saying the phone has disconnected, but it's not true.
I can do anything that I can do using the cradle with the single (and rather strange) exception that I cannot make backups. I can copy files over, install software, connect to the Net over my broadband connection and synchronise.
Slightly annoyingly, the bluetooth signal is just strong enough to reach my bedroom, but not my bed. If I want to look at a web site in bed I have to pay GPRS charges for it or turn on a laptop . 😞

If you read your phone manual, it states that Backups are not possible using Bluetooth

Yes backups are just not possible via bluetooth. I am surpriesed to know that you also get that error of the phone being disconnected. I asked my friend and he told me what He did was install the Nokia 7650 PC suite as well and somehow this solved his problem. Can you try this? 😊
i was trying to transfer a picture from 7650 to p800 but 7650 is not recognizing the connection. i even have to change the BT name everytime i turn it on. is there anything i can do?
i am tired to connect...
it's connected but when i use the internet or i trasfear file more than 1 Mb
it's showing Disconnect..
i hate Belkin

Looks like there is a problem between Nokia Phones and SE phones :P
The same here, sometimes it doesn't work at all, I've to restart the phone to get it working.

Try moving the PC closer to the bed :P
I get 4 meters max, I think it should be 10 :-?

I have MSI Bluetooth adaptor, it works fine, I've transfered many MP3s through BT.
Try to get the latest drivers.
Well, although I do get the error message, I don't actually get an error since (now I know that backup is not supposed to work) everything that is supposed to work does.
I don't have the 7650 software and since my setup appears to work, I would be reluctant to install software I don't need. However, if you have good reason to believe it might make a difference, I could try it if you can provide me with a link to the software.
Although The BT does not recognize the p800 , I managed to connect via the phone which, Recognizes My PC/BT. It's working fine.
Although the BT Dongle range is 100 Meters, I can't transfer files at more than seven straight meters, without any opstruction ( in sight of the BT ), Throu Concrete walls , it is the range is few meters.
If the feature of restoring and Backup Via Bt is available , I don't prefare to do that, I don't trust the reliability of BT.
I don't like to sue the BT connection for installation of new software because if the link is broken, then you may have un needed temporary files on your p800 and it may cause troubles for re installation of the soft ware.
