When I open an image bigger than the screen size,
imaging gives me a scroll bar, but I can't grab it
and scroll up or down. I can't find a keystroke for this either. Anyboy help?

try zoom in and zoom out... 
use the arrow keys
use the arrow keys to scroll. to scroll faster hold it down for a second or so.
