Twister Group 128Mb - AVOID THEM!

Guys, my opinion on The Twister Group (www.thetwistergroup.com) FWIW:

I ordered my 128Mb card on the 1st May - they had 40 or so in stock at the time. The stick was $74 (50) and shipping was $47 (30). Still cheaper than buying them over here, and they had them in stock. I paid by credit card and was charged the same day.

5 days later they send it to their "international sales office" (as far as I can tell that's Joe Schmoe working from his mum's spare room).

19 days later it arrives at my house, along with a customs charge of 17 ($25).

So I've paid $136 (97) in total. Not as good a deal as it sounded at first, but hey - at least it finally got here.

I didn't expect overnight delivery - but 19 days!?!? Maybe they pay a Mexican (no offence any Mexicans reading this) $2 per day to do their deliveries.

Really disappointed.

A mate ordered one from www.P800er.com and got it in about a week, with no customs charge (I think their more used to international shipping).

The customs charge is to be expected. P800er get round it by a little trick called "lying" wink

Not in my case. Stupid Fed Ex made sure of that. I ended up paying more than $200 for mine, a while back. :agrue:

if they post it then they stick a customs sticker on it saying goods value $1. if they Fed Ex it, they have to tell Fed Ex the value and you get hit for customs charge. So for the 4 days extra wait, it beats paying 20 extra for Fed Ex + Customs.

I don't know about four days extra, mine only took four days to arrive from when p800er told me it had been sent.

I opted for the airmail option, partly because I thought that I would be much less likely to to pay duty and partly because I wasn't inclined to add to the already high cost.

Airmail and p800er get my vote.

Just got mine today as well from p800er, shipped on 15th via airmail

I ordered mine last Wednesday and got it last Friday allready (with P800er.com and fedex). I think two days is pretty quick! But I hope it's sars free as well :fadein:

Yes, Air mail + www.p800er.com makes perfect sense. I also opted for air mail when asked which delivery method and was even happier when it arrived after 6 days - and I paid 82 for it!!!
