10 replies · 3,098 views · Started 20 May 2003

I am just about to smash my PC.... why cant it be simple, so that people like me, just a regular user of cool mobile devices can make some cool things...

I have that damn software Helix and can not make it work... please some kind soul, step by step guiede... I upload a .mpg file, edit audience and do some settings discussed here... can not find nowhere 80 kbps for target encoding...

Yes, I did search the forum but still its not helping me...

so, it works with real producer 8.51... but the file is too big... i used those common settings previously discussed here...

80 kbps target bitrate
20 fps
22 KHZ audio

but the file is too big... what to do? i tried to attach it but it is way to big... 20 sec resulted in 1,9 MB

sleepless:

Download Helix Job Files from Realone, I have attached the General Mobile Local Video - this is used to ensure encoded videos work on the nokia 3650, you will need to ensure that the you resize the video tho (read below):

Automatic scaling (Default = On)
This function enables or disables automatic resizing of the video images. When automatic scaling is on, video frame sizes less than or equal to 88x72 are doubled in size and video frame sizes of greater than or equal to 176x144 will be halved. Video frame sizes greater than 352x288 in either dimension cannot be played. When automatic scaling is off, the video frame will be centered on the screen and cropped if the dimensions exceed 174x142.

TIP: best video-experience in 176x144 with automatic scaling set to off!
And beside, the video-quality is way better in rm. format than in 3gp. format converted by the PC-Suite.

PS: more info about the realOne player for 3650 here:

.... So open Helix Producer Plus and open up the attached Helix job file, then ensure that the size is small enough then encode! this should sort out your problems.

Scott

The attachments that I spoke of.

If the job files aren't compatible with your version of Helix I will write out all the settings they well, erm set up.

P.S. If you have the Basic Version of Helix Producer Plus, you won't be able to encode the video's 'cos it only lets you use the Real Player 9 codec - nokia real player on the phone uses Real Player 8 codec.

where can i get this helix producer thingy? i want it badly.. i wanna convert my own files !!!.. pls anyone tell me..

do yourself a favor and set the fps up for 20. ure video will look alot betterand make the image say sharpest. it really does work

I used Helix Basis to encode an MP3 audio file into a rm file. I then transferred it to my 3650 MMC (using Fexplorer--which is a great utility for the 3650). I found the new rm file in the "e" directory of my MMC but when I tried to open to it I got a message saying it was not a recginized format. Does anyone know how/what I can do so I can listen to my MP3's as real media files on my 3650? Thanks_
