does anyone know of a freeware mp3 player for the 3650?
freeware mp3 player
I don't think there is... I only know mp3Go and mp3player and they're not freeware. Anyway, you try searching to be sure.
jus convert mp3s using helix producer thts wot i doo......ne1 notice differnce between mp3 and real which sounds better on the phone?
There is a app called ReadM it plays mp3's and its free.
Search for it on the series60 news section.
Dont know how well it works on 3650...
it works but i dont like it. I prefer helixing my sounds into rm files cuz when you make the sound better in the preferences, the size to quality ratio cant be beat. Still tho if u want readm its on here somewhere. It can do book files too if your into that sorta thing.
I transmitted some of my MP3 files to my Nokia-3650. During the transfer they were converted to a half size smaller WAV files. Now, I can use those files instead of ringtones/polytones in Profiles or play them at will via Recorder program in Extras folder (it's FREE and included with your phone).
I've tried MP3Go - nice screen display! However, I don't see the point of owning an MP3 player program that can't improve the sound quality and volume - the 3650 does NOT produce a stereo sound, nor it supports any stereo headphones. Don't spend your money on things you don't need. Save it for something useful.
I agree with you vicstone. Why play mp3's if the sound output is only mono? People should think about that before buying.
can any1 teLL me where to download this freeware mp player called READM as posted by JyriK. i tried searching but to no avail. and i really need this app. thank you!
If you get the latest build of RealOne for s60 that has Mp3 support and is completely free. There is no support for playlists as yet and it can be a little tempramental (it does a go-slow on large high-bitrate file) but it does work.
everytime I try to convert a mp3 too WAV by a program on pc it gets 6 times bigger. why can the phone convert it to a WAV that's smaller and how can I do this on the pc
because I use a cardreader so it stays the same file
Those mp3 players sucks, you cant listen with headphones, there is sound leaking through the speaker to. I juse winamp to convert music to wav with these settings: 16000khz, 8bit mono (19kbyes/sec) and then copie them to the mmc, so i can listen to music through the standard soundplayer with my headphones without the leaking problem.
anybody else knwos how to do this like Evert.999 converts thme because I have winamp but wouldn't know how to preform that action
or is a app available to play .wma files because those are lots smaller
Hey guys, try this, it's a great software to convert most types of music files (MP3 to Wav or Wav to MP3 or WMA to MP3)
whatever way you want it and at lower bitrates, and it has a 'preset' for ripping for phones and it ripps at 17kbps 8hz. And best of all it's FREE:

Ripp to your heart's desire!😉
P.S. I use this to convert wma and wav files to MP3 then I use the latest Real One player on my 6600 which can play MP3, the sound is not great though because it's mono but with headsets its great sound. I don't see any problem on 3650.
