I love worldmate, I used it when I had my Clie NR70v. Very good for travelling. Very very good. I sent an email already 😊
So did I! I loved the first version already, hope this is even beter!
8) Yeah... WORLDMATE is a very nicelooking app...
Ok first thing I noticed is that it doesnt update the weather forecasts via your PC internet connection when you are connected to the PC via bluetooth, it uses gprs.. Have yet to test it with the cradle (which is in the office) emailing them this prob tom 😊 Gprs is very expensive here, 50 cents per kilobyte, id rather update my wheather forecast via my dsl connection.
Another major problem for people in the UK is that you can only get weather for London (and maybe Edinburgh - I can't remember) but no other major cities like Birmingham, Manchester or Bristol!
That was one of the main reason's why I bought Worldmate and was disappointed that the UK wasn't very well supported (but they have loads of US cities :x )
One other gripe - you can't add user defined currencies and conversions - again if it's not in the list you are out of luck. I went to U.A.E. recently and dirhams weren't in the list and I couldn't alter another currency to use as a substitute.
I hope these issues are fixed in the new release - I haven't downloaded the bet yet - does anyone who has know?
Otherwise a good app! 😃

Thats weird version 1 does that perfect bleutooth and cradle
the only prob when doing update via bluetooth was that it starts to make connection to update (in my case dialup) but if u disconnect straight away it stil would update fine thru bluetooth

Well In my case it connected straight on without asking me what connection to use 😞 I assumed it used the GPRS connectino since the globe Icon did not dissappear..
Also my specific City, which is Cebu City, the second biggest city, does not have its wheather report too, only Manila which is the Capital of the Philippines.

I've never had that problem with the UK cities. I have the forecasts for all the major ones. Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool etc. (okay, no Bristol but then, the Isle of Man isn't even listed!).
And no, you still can't edit currencies, though the list is pretty extensive (not that it's any help if the one wyou wanted wasn't there I suppose). New version looks good though.

Yeah, the globe will pop up with gprs signal activated(me set using gsm only), but if your p800 is in the dongle with your pc with internet connection, you will notice there actually no traffic registered thru gprs. That's mean, its infact uses your pc's internet connection. Maybe, its still considered a bug 'cos it shouldn't activate the gprs in the 1st place when there's already hav a internet connection thru the pc.

Yes I did notice that. It says, 0 bytes sent and recieved. BUt I dont trust my phone company, Just got billed $40.00 for last months GPRS use 😞 And I dont remember using it that much except for MSN messanger 😞
What I can't understand is what they changed, as this looks identical to the version 1.0... Any feature additions or changes?
Version 1 that I tried had the wierdest thing.
Try writing 115 in one of the currency boxes. It comes out as 15... Typing 5 deletes the number that preceded it...
Strange...
Well one major change is the weather forecasts 😊
The only change I can see is the conversions tab. The weather forecasts always worked for me (Leeds is my nearest city and that's included).
I get the same thing with updating over BT through the PC. It starts a GPRS session, but when it ends it says 0 bytes sent or received.
What I would quite like is for the weather icons in the clocks tab to change to reflect the current weather. At first I thought it did, but after two days of Leeds, London, Tokyo, Paris and New York all having the same weather I realised that it doesn't.
One nice thing to have would be the ability to automatically update weather and currencies when you place the P800 in the cradle. I keep forgetting to do this when I am syncing with Outlook and have to pay to do it via GPRS 😞
I really hope the new version has a time-calculator - at work I have to arrange phone meetings with people in the US, Japan and Australia and it's handy when you're about to suggest a meeting time to check, "if it's 3:30pm in the UK, what's the time in Chicago", etc.
Unit conversion would also be useful, for those trans-European shopping trips.
Already a good app though, and let's hope it only gets better.
If you have a look at the Nokia version of WorldMate you can see what likely is planed. As their version has been out for a lot longer they have 8 or so tabs instead of 3 (from memory).
