Hi

I can normally send faxes from my communicator but I can't recive it!? What is the problem!! When the phone rings, and I answer, I hear the fax tones, but my 9210 doesn't takes any fax messages???? Any suggestion

Thanx in advance

Sometimes I have the same problem: When it happens to me it is not a 9210 problem but it is a problem with the fax that is sending it to me...Check all the settings of the 9210 and check that your operator allows you to do fax calls...then let me know. I think that certain faxes can't transmit properly to the 9210 for some strange reason... 😉 :P

I don't think you can receive a fax the way you described. If the phone rings and you can answer it, hearing the other fax in the background, then it is already too late. The call is already routed through the voice system and not the data system.

Ask your service provider. Mine gave me a different fax number. If people phone this number, the phone displayes fax call on the display and the fax mode is activated.

You have to have 3 separate numbers for a 9210(i), 1 each for:

- telephone (the one you normally use)
- fax (this is the number that faxes must be sent to {and from} - they can't be sent to the tel number)
- data line (this is for email, etc. but as far as I can see, you don't actually need to know the number)

Your service providers can activate these or tell you what they are.

Yes,but I noticed that sometimes there are some faxes that have problrms sending to my 9210i...This could be a network problem or sometimes the number id of the sending macchine is hidden and the 9210 won't recognize it as a fax call!

I don't think the i.d of the sending machine is an issue - when I pick up a normal land line and dial my 9210i fax number, the 9210i answers, shows the normal indicators for a fax/data call and then starts making fax answering noises at my landline receiver (which, naturally doesn't give the right noises back!).

I haven't seen any problems with receiving faxes. I suspect that the most likely answer is problems with the sending machine (or the person operating it?).

I absolutly agree... 😃 :P
