Nokia Symbian Emulator Problems

I have been trying to install some programs (distributed as .sis) on the emulator without exit...it just says system error. Is there any way to check what may be the problem (I'm not sure if it is possible to make the emulator write a debug log or something like that).

You can not install a sis file on the emulator. The emulator is not binary compatible with symbian code. If you want to test the code on the emulator, you must get the emulator version of the application.

So it only emulates the OS, not the hardware that runs the OS?
