I want to be able to convert my audio and video files to watch on my awsome 3650 but the software to do it costs 200 bucks. Does any one know where I can get Helix Producer Plus for less????
Helix Producer why so expensive!!!
There is a free version called "Helix Producer Basic" but it has certain features omitted.
If you want the full features, you'll have to pay for it, I'm afraid.
Cheers 😊
what features are omitted?
I used Helix Basis to encode an MP3 audio file into a rm file. I then transferred it to my 3650 MMC (using Fexplorer--which is a great utility for the 3650). I found the new rm file in the "e" directory of my MMC but when I tried to open to it I got a message saying it was not a recginized format. Does anyone know how/what I can do so I can listen to my MP3's as real media files on my 3650? Thanks_
I believe by default Helix creates RealMedia 9 files, but the RealOne Player on the phone can only support RealMedia 8 and earlier.
Does that mean I cannot do anything about it?
I imagine that later versions of the 3650 firmware will have support for RealMedia 9, however in the meantime, you can download RealProducer Basic which will create RealMedia 8 files, which do play on the 3650.
Thanks. Would MP3 files encoded using Real Producer Basic be a solution then to having an "MP3 type player" on the 3650?
Indeed, it works.
However, one of the "omitted" features in HP Basic or RP Basic, is the ability to convert MP3 -> RM. Instead you must convert MP3 -> WAV then the WAV -> RM.
Cheers
Does Real Producer Basic still exist or has it been replaced by Helix Producer Basic sinc eI cannot seem to find it anywhere--altough doing a google search I have found various user manuals but cannot find any download links from Real.com or anywhere else.
I know that when HP was first released, there was an option to download RP as well, although after briefly checking now, it appears that the option to do so has been removed.
I have the RP Basic setup file on my PC, but I have nowhere to upload it to.
Cheers
you can convert to real media 8 with helix producer plus and basic, just go to audiences and select video codec real media 8

Thanks for the offer, but that post is several months old now - I've since swapped from my main PC to a laptop and no longer have the file. Sorry 😞

i know that is not free, but i am just a student,
i live in greece and the income is not really big.
is not as easy as you think about buying a product like this.
@RZart
however i use the helix basic and i have the installer in my hard drive.
by the way the plus version installer needs serial number, as far as i know
If you can't afford it, go without.
Being poor is no excuse for piracy. How do you think it feels after spending months (sometimes years) making an app, just to find it's been cracked, and nobody buys it?
An alternative to using Real Media files is to use Quicktime Pro 6.4 (a paltry 29.95) to convert videos to 3GP format -- playable by the real player, as well as pvPlayer (my video player of choice).
It's really easy to use and the price can't be beat. Mac or PC.
Good luck!
Not sure if its been mentioned in this thread but nokia multimedia converter converts to .3gp. And best thing is that its free.
however rm compression is really better.
the rm files are smaller than 3gp
I agree
