Playlist limitations in audio player

Despite trying, I cannot figure out a way to persuade the audio player to sort tracks in alphabetical order by file name.

The sort of music I listen to most of the time needs tracks to be played in a particular order, and although the MP3 files are named

01 - foo.mp3
02 - bar.mp3
03 - baz.mp3 etc

the audio player sorts them by track name not file name, consequently it would play the above tracks in the order 3-2-1.

The only workarounds that I have figured out so far are either to edit each track name, or to start the tracks by hand. The latter is a complete non-starter since the tracks have pretty unmemorable names and I would have to search through the tracks to find the next one. Renaming all the tracks is presumably possible, but I don't know how and it would be so painful to have to do this for each new CD that I cannot face it.

Does anyone have any bright ideas?

If the track does not have any ID tags at all, it will name them using their filenames. Use ID killer or some other programs which can remove all tags in batches, making sure nothing is left.

Thanks for the tip. I couldn't find ID Killer, but it took me all of three minutes to find something else that does the same thing and it works a treat.
