Hello I am trying to figure out if I should upgrade my firmware or not and if yes where or how to do it.
I called Ericsson and believe it or not they told me this is not a service they offer... I was shocked, if Ericsson doesn't offer it am I supposed to go to the wizard of Oz?
Has anyone done it? By yourself? If not, where? How much? Is it worth doing it?
Yeah definitely do the upgrade, a few bug fixes as well as new features to play around with. Currently the lastest upgrade is the Phone R2F.
You should find out who does the warranty repairs for your phone in your area, they should be the people who can do your firmware upgrade for you. If the phone is under warranty and you have evidence to show this, the upgrade is free of charge.
Definitely do it mate... trust me, your P800 will just get better. Good luck 😉

If your P800 is working fine the way it is, I wouldn't bother, but if you deperately need SMS delivery reports and often use the camera in low light conditions, then by all means..
I have read that the new R2F will also allow for different language packs to be installed AND allow for greater quality of pictures taken in low light conditions... I want to do the upgrade...
Absolutely correct marcnyc... the upgrade gives the P800 greater stability as well as extra features. Just make sure you back-up your phone before taking it to the service centre.

I called SE Cust. Support and they gave me a Service Order #, then I was able to call the Repair Center in MN and ship it to them, took about a week and I have R2D, R5A, R2A16, R3A12. there is an indep. co. in So. CA Virtual dynamix GSM Services, perhaps they can assist you in locating a co. in NY.
(just learned about the CA location from esato.com)
If somebody knows where to get this done in NYC on location please post it because I'd rather do it here than ship it somewhere and not have all my contacts for a week...
By the way did you guys pay or was it free?
