SMS Message Store keeps swapping.

Happened to me very often! hought it was the firmware...but every now and then it does it!!!!! :evil: :evil: :evil:

Try this:

There is a sensor switch next to the SIM slot that senses for whether the plastic cover is closed or opened. It seems that the design of the plastic tab that pushed this sensor is just a bit too short. So after some period of closing & opening, the plastic cover hinge will get a bit loose and sometimes the tab does not push the sensor down enough. The SMS storage will switch itself back to communicator when it occasionally sense that the cover is "opened".

I cut a piece of 1.5mm X 3mm X 0.3mm (Thick) paper and use paper glue to stick it to the sensor. This makes the sensor a little higher for the tab to reach. This problem never happen to me since then.

There's an earlier forum entry that says Nokia released a new cover with a slightly longer tab. But I cannot verify that with my local Nokia centres.

Heyy, i didnt know that! well but w my experience i dnt thnk thats how i solved the prob! Wat i did is replaced my MMC and viola! it doesnt switch anymore!
But then again, it cus jst be plain old coincidence!

Initially I too thought that it was my MMC card (taiwanese unknown brand) that is too slow for the OS/firmware to respond.

But after I change to a more premium brand MMC, the problem still happen occasionally.

In the end, I did an experient by opening the cover while working, & see the SMS app switch storage to communicator. That gave me the clue.

never tried that, & i wudnt wnt to try either!
Thats why to avoid any hassel i jst use the communicator mem! its such a hassel if ever the prob occurs agn and i wudnt wnt to kip on switching between applications! Its a gud thing that 9210i is equipped w a bigger storage compared to the 4MB from a 16MB. jst hope that they wud release a biiger storage on the next communicator!

I think that could be the problem, as my memory/sim cover sticks out a bit.

I tryed opening the cover and the memory switched right away...
