Internet/intranet access with USB cradle?

Hi,
is it possible to use the USB cradle to have network access? Which settings would I use?

I did look into the manual and control panel settings on my P800, but I didn't figure out how to do this. The manual does not even mention this is possible. Yes, I can transfer files and synchronize my P800.

thanks for help

So the build-in browser is worthless at home? I think Sony-Ericsson did not a good design in this point. 😮

Can I also access the internet-via-cradle in my own TCP/IP programs, how?

Thanks again.

You can browse using the built-in browser, but you have to delete your Internet connections. you can access the internet using Opera just by putting your P800 in the cradle.

Good luck 😉

I don't see the point of having a network connection for web browsing while in the cradle. Why not just use the PC it's connected to? I see the benefit with a bluetooth connection instead of the cradle. It's too restrictive sitting in the cradle. Even a cable would be better so you can at least hold it in your hand easily. At least with bluetooth you have a degree of freedom of movement.

Because my PC doesn't have bluetooth and I started programming networking on a P800. On other devices (e.g. ipaq) I can choose to use internet via USB cradle... and can easily test all networking code with my intranet (no extra costs).

Prolly I should buy myself a bluetooth adapter (for PC) and make life more easy 😃

Thanks for the hints so far! If someone has information about using USB-cradle connection in own TCP/IP programs, let me know please.

You can directly access the internet either by using the opera browser or the bundled browser via dial-up connection. There is no gprs service connection among all the network providers here in cambodia so i just have to connect at 9.6kbps gsm.
