Got my nice 128MB stick from Brando.
Been working well. But is sooo slow to transfer MP3 via the cradle. So I put the stick in my USB MS reader. Everything appears to work.
But when I put the duo bak in the P800, it takes about 5 minutes to turn on. EVerything is wroking at 1% speed. And if I use Filemanager it tells me (eventually) that the disk is corrupt. Putting the duo back in the MS reader, and it tells me it needs formatting.
Help ! Please !
Hi,
did you format the card in the PC or on the P800?
I had the exact same problem when I formatted the card on the P800, so I formatted it with the PC through the card reader and the card is read ok by the P800.
Cheers,
Z.
Formatted the card on the P800. Worked fine in the P800, worked fine in the card reader .... until I put more than a couple of MP3's on there via card reader.
Reformatted on P800 OK, tried again. Restored from backup. Fine. Copied some MP3's. Fine. Corrupted as soon as I put it in the P800.
Perhaps I will try to format in the PC as you suggest.
Thanks.
Did you dismount the memory card 'drive' in windows before you pulled the card out of the reader? You have to right-click then 'eject' the drive it appears to be. If you pull the memory card out before ejecting it, it could very easily trash it.
Apologies if this is obvious to you, but it is one of the ways you will see the corruption you have.

Hmmmmm, I have the the Reader for a couple of years, use it with Camcorder/Camera. And have never "ejected" before. Although that is with standard cards not Duos.
But that could be the answer. Thanks.
Have spent all morning loading MP3's via the cradle. A whole 60Mb in 3 hours ... there has to be a better way :-?
