picture anomalies after upgrade

18 replies · 3,383 views · Started 31 May 2003

i just upgraded my phone from R1D to R2F and when i started transferring pictures from my phone i noticed that the new pictures i took after the upgrade had a thin line running through the middle right of the picture.

is this caused by the software upgrade? a known issue? or what?

help!

😮

What is it with this photo 'anomaly' horse dung? Bigdaddy, please take some more pics, compare them with your old ones and tell us your findings!

I was really keen on getting the 2F upgrade, but I do sometimes use the camera and really do not want any of that crap on my pics - the picture quality is already bad, I don't need more lines to spoil the pic!

Believe it or not, I'm still on 1D firmware!

I just upgrade from R1D to R2F but do not see any problems on the old and new pictures.

While I do not see a big difference on the night mode (maybe both are too bad to tell), I like the widescreen mode very much.

Thew colors su%^& totaly since i upgraded 2 r2d there is totaly no color depth anymore anymore besides that the upgrade was worth it i really hope there will soon be a new firmware to get the color crap fixed

i talked to semicon (one of the distributors of SE here in the philippines) about this and the lady said that the problem is with the LCD. LCD? come on! theres no problem with my LCD. the problem is after taking the picture. which means it might be with the software or lens. besides this is a new one and it is barely a week old.

i will go there this thursday. no stocks yet for p800 parts!

anyway, my p800 has warranty so i better maximize it! 😃

Wow thats bad, I have the R2d and I dont have this problem.. Have you tried cleaning you lens? But it doesnt look like dirt at all..

You have warranty right?

i did already and obviously its not dirt. im thinking that probably the semicon technician accidentally dropped the phone. but if it was dropped it will not only give this damage to the phone.

I double check my phone's picture and found no problems like yours. You should ask for SE's service.

I noticed that there are two other lines to the right of the pic.. this is really strange, if I were, try to get you phone changed ASAP!

Something's definatelly wrong. I noticed a big improvement With R2F, although nightmode sometimes distorts color a little, specially natural shades will sometimes come out as slight bruises. But I think that's because i used Nightmode when there actually was enough light. I've just taken this photo a minute ago on automatic, no presets whatsoever adn I don't have any of those lines

Actually, just for fun here's the same picture, form the same place and with the same light but on nightmode. It looks preety decent to me.

The light IS preety strong and I think that's the reason why the pictures are coming out so clean. It's one of those Halogen desk lights.

But more importantly, No big vertical lines. There something wrong with your hardware

Blimey! That's a good quality pic...
It definitely is! The size is small though, perhaps the quality is better with such a small size, never actually tried that 😮

i went to sony ericsson yesterday to have my phone checked. they say that it was a first here in the philippines and it is a hardware issue. they replaced the camera. right now its working fine. i got wav files and mp3's too. 😃

here's the picture i took after they changed the camera. not bad!

Bigdaddy, that pic looks out of focus....
i know. haven't configured the settings yet. what are your settings for your camera?

"Hardware Issue" my @rse! Someone has dropped that phone. That line (and the other less obvious ones to the right) have been caused by damage to the CCD.

But it's good that they swapped it over for you straight away, even if they didn't tell the truth.

Most close picks are out of focus on the P800, it sucks that way. Make a pick of something from a meter or 2 away and let us see.

Congratulations anyway.
