Guys is it possible to overcome the 1000 kb limit in emuzed camcorder?
Emuzed Camcoder ver. 1.0 1000 kb limit
well? nobody has any answer? or is it that im the only one who uses this software? :s
Hi,
As far as I'm aware no, I don't think you can.
Having said that I'd get your hands on the new app thats out, ETI Camcorder Pro. It is only in trial form at present but is so much better already than Hipcam and allows infinate recording, well within memory limitations anyway. And with your 3650 that isn't a problem.
I am a little biased though as I brought Hipcam the day it was released and as I have a 7650 without a built in player like the 3650 has I am a bit stuffed when it comes to play back. I was assured a new app was coming various emails confirmed this in the first two weeks, but now nothing. It's been well over two months and I haven't heard anything, great support these guys offer. I was happy to start with as I was informed but now I'm disappointed in them. If anyone knows anything about what they are doing let us know, have the Mods heard anything?
Perhaps they have decided not to go any further as their product is being left behind in the video stakes?
Ian
Coolice, i have ETI comcorder pro installed too. And i admit its a much better software than Emuzed Camcorder. but the prob with it, as for now, is its fat too buggy. there r so many bugs that u encounter while recording, like unsync audio n video while recording long videos, and then there is ever irritable poping sound. dont get me wrong. i appreciate the software and what its worth, but as far as this beta version of it is concerned, well, im not sure im satisified with it. Emuzed cam doesnt give any glitches (though video quality is undoubtely poor). its really sad it cant record more than 1000 kb of data. can it be fixed somehow, by cracking or any reverse engineering techniques?

You're not supposed to be satisfied with beta software. You're supposed to find problems with it, and report them to the developer so that they can be fixed before the official release. That's what beta software is for.
Hi,
Oh yeah your right, more so on the higher quality recording setting which does unfortunately push the limitations of the software and I'm sure the phone to a certain extent.
Again as has been mentioned the beta ETI sotware is expected to be like that, with the view to us users reporting back the bugs to be fixed.
I have found though that if you keep the quality settings to normal then recording is a lot better, it's not ideal and we all want the best quality we can get but for now it's a start.
As for changing Hipcam to record longer, I'm sure it is possible if you know how. Having said that there is a newer version out V1.02ha I think I don't know but this might allow longer recording. The downside is I don't think there is a trial available you just have to buy it.
Again going back to my contact with them I think it was something which was going to be changed in later releases but hasn't been mentioned about lately. There hasn't even been any mention from them at all about where they are in their development, are they still in the game?
Personally I feel that the ETI software is going to be the winner here in the end, the dedicated Nokia Hantro is the best for quality so far but they'll get there in the end. The only downside at presnt is the .eye file created but I think that to will be able to be set to mpeg4/3ggp if I recall.
Lets see what comes, Ian

First I want to thank you all for the confidence you have in my ETICamcorder app 😃 I will certainly do my best to improve it.
I also realize that standard setting somehow creates better-looking pictures on the phone. I think this is due to the source image having limited colors (12-bit only).
As far as HipCam is concerned, I don't think you can set it to more than 1000K because it captures to RAM instead of Flash directly (like ETI). Capturing to RAM helps maintain the encoding speed (52MHz isn't a lot for complex MPEG-4 encoding) but limits the length of the recording.

First of all, i want to congratulate dfdzgz for bringing out a really nice camcorder application. Its a really great app, but i have a few suggestions for its imprivement:
1. it'd be really nice if u can add an option to change the fps. i mean, some ppl out there dont want to record at 5fps u know.
2. if possible, integrate .eye and .ear in one file.
3. and also itd be nice if u can add an option to change the audio quality. (low/high/med)
4. a zoom option would be great
5. if we can 'stamp' the video with date and time, like in actual camcorders, it'd be really nice.
6. perhaps u already know about the apparent bugs, so i dont need to repeat them again 😊
oh btw, how is ur work on the app going on? when r u planning to release the full version? or perhaps another beta version with bugs fixed? really want to try out the newer version of this excellent software.
ps: do think about adding the above features😊
regards,
prabh singh
Hi,
Your welcome for the confidence and I do have a lot in the software.
Like everthing something has to hit you on the first impressions inorder to be liked and your software did that the minute I opened it on the phone.
I don't mind paying for any apps for this phone as long as they are good, I brought Hipcam on the spur-of-the-moment as soon as it was out as it was video. I have been very disappointed with it and now the support, even though to start with it was fantastic.
Yourself on the other hand have said "Hey guys, I'm working on something here I know you will like. It isn't finished, has minor bugs I can fix when I know them and I'd like you to try it. There will be a small charge for it once it's complete, but after all the trials and changes it will be worth it."
It's honest and open, at the same time asking for our input as we're the ones who will use it when it's done.
I, along with everyone here I think admire you programmers for your skill and dedication and it's good to reward your hard work with some compliments. Especially as when you first started it you probably didn't know if it was going to get as far as it is now.
Keep going, we're all patiently waiting for the final version. If you get a chance to keep us informed as it's nice to hear whats going on.
Ian
