UnrealPlayer (MP3) for P800 check it out reallu cool

I installed them demo and it seems to give errors after playing around10-15 seconds into a song. It simply just hangs and it make my tracker ap hang too! Too bad, this really looks good! Hope they fix this bug soon!

I also downloaded the demo and didn't get any errors. I love the programs ability to have playlists. Looks cool, too!

Really? Did you install it on MS or Phone? Do you have tracker installed?

I installed the demo of Unrealplayer and didn't have any problems - but I haven't got Tracker installed.

It works a treat, with open and closed flip!!

Dang! Will experiment more, do you have it installed on the MS or internal Mem?

I got it on my Duo and it works perfect had no real prob till now

I REALLY LOVE THE APP, but I think it is really very buggy!!! I love it, that it won't auto-close the app after 1 minute in FC-mode (like the normal MP3 Player) and I love that keylock integrated in the app (FC-mode). The interface is really very nice as well.

But when I mailled them, reporting a bug this was their reply:

I will buy it, but I think I'll wait a little until some bugs are fixed

I have it in my 128mb duo. I have Tracker and Handyday installed as well. No problems.

Weird, I tried turning off the screesaver bec I thought this was the reason bec its scheduled to turn after 1 minute. I didnt get an error. Now I tried putting the screen saver back again and it doesnt give me an error anymore. A glitch in the matrix I guess..

Oh know, I got an error again.. I really think its the screensaver since when I get the error a screensaver pops up but its not the screensaver that I chose but the built in screensaver (the one with opening boxes)

Also, if you haven't seen the good ole' yellow exclamation mark for a while, try and use your jog dial when Unrealplayer is in closed mode. You should have one in no time!

I'm definitely gonna buy this player, but will wait for a few days for version 1.1

I get the same error (for example when I try to lower the volume with the jog-dial) I don't think the screensaver is the (only) problem, since I don't use the screensaver, and still get the error rather occasionally.

I think that the program was still in beta stage, but that they had to release it, because of the competition...

Also, this app won't auto-resume the music after you end a call. I mailed them and asked if they wanted to add this. Hope they'll do so :-?

It didn't seem to agree with Handy Day on my device after playing a song for a minute. The player crashed and Handy Day hung. I had to power off to recover. Nice little app but too buggy at present. The price also seems a little high in my opinion. Does this support any music file formats other than mp3? If it did support multiple formats (including ogg), and didn't have conflicts with other important apps, I think I would be tempted but not as it stands. Looking forward to seeing the next relaese.

I think I have pinpointed the cause, its really because of the screen saver. Also, when I use the jogdial the same error happens, the program closes and the stuff I worte above would come out. No triangle exclamation point for me though.. the program just ends with the error message. Tracker doesnt seem to get disturbed anymore.

I have installed the demo version and been using it the whole day without incident. I installed it in my fone memory. I have both handy day and tracker, so i guess its not the reason for all you guys crashing your system. Or maybe i was just plain lucky 😊

Same here. However, I also have all power saving disabled and I don't use either the Tracker or Handy Day features for taking over after 2mins inactivity, which I find can cause problems.

Did you try using JogDial while listening to music? Can please test this for me? 😊

I use the jog dial all the time, it actually controls the volume when used up and down and puse stop functions when pressed.

Is it possible that you have tracker changing the function of the jog dial? if this is the case maybe the apps are competing to use it.

I find unreal is really cool and I love that the volume control is on the Jog. So try disabling the Jog in tracker and see if it works.

I have it installed internally and use Handy day. No problems yet except one of those messages when I was creating the playlists, but I was adding and erasing like crazy because it doesn't support selecting several files at once. I hope this get's fixed because it's a pain to sort through 40 songs one by one.

Also I love the Fast forward because I have some speech transfered into MP3 for working reason and it's really cool to fast forward and start where you left rather than having to re listen to 20 minutes of stuff.

Also no Ogg support, which doesn't affect me yet.

I agree with Me. Maybe you had set the jog dial to use with other apps so they might be competing and causing some problems. I have been using the jog dial repeatedly to increase/decrease volume and pause the song with no probs. If not for the price i would have ordered it by now. I love it. So much better than the built in player 😊

AFIK, I dont have any aps using the jog dial 😞But will check around.. The bluebutton maybe, but the jog dial none :cry:

I have the same problem, and I'm 100% sure that there's no other app that uses the jog-dial (or any button for that matter) :-? :agrue:

Hello everyone, I'm new to the board... this is my first post:

I bought this program without trying the demo first (doh!), am also having the jog dial problems as well as a big crash when adding and erasing from the playlist (had to reinstall the program for it to be able to launch again, now I guess haven't seen this one from posts yet but happened to me once only).

Also the screen saver is not initializing during Flip Closed mode either... the music resumes after a call, but I need to go back to the applications menu and reselect UnrealPlayer to see the app screen again.

Overall, since I've bought the app, I'm stuck and just hope that they fix the bugs and launch their website for support soon. But other than the small problems, I really like the program over sony's own player (I'm pissed off that Sony doesn't do International support for firmware upgrade even if I'm willing to pay and I get the impression that Sony sucks in writing their own software as well!).

Solution: Disable the screensaver.

Having the screensaver active really drains the battery, and it can also conflict with other programs such as Tracker and, as mentioned, Unrealplayer.

An animated screensaver is really not good for the battery. Just think about it, every time you touch your phone and the screen goes on, the screensaver runs at "full" processor power for 3 minutes before it goes into power saving mode.

Huh? Handango still shows version 1.0
