My problems with PC Suite never end.
I am synchronizing with Outlook 2000. I don't know what changed but all of the sudden I was faced with the following problem
When I synchronize all tasks, email synchronization works fine, calendar synchronization works fine, but for contacts synchronization it says "There was an error opening machine My Communicator" (My Communicator being the name I assigned to the 9210).
I have tried everything from reinstalling to creating new databases but still no luck.
Please could someone help?
By the way I am using PC Suite 1.02 and my firmware version is 3.18.

I have the same problem; with Lotus Organizer. So it has nothing to do with your PC.
I think the database is corrupt.
When I export to an empty database I have 4 groups in the new one and the existing one has 5 groups.
As Nokia says nothing about this problem we cannot see if it has been solved in 3.62.
Sometimes however I am able to synchronize. Especially when I end both Contacts and Telephone with Taskmanager.
Try to compare your Outlook database and Contacts. You may see a different number of records.
I am 80% sure its the software in our Nokia.
I use 1.02 and 3.54.
Once I was able to backup up with zipmanager. the file is a textfile which I could read. So it should not be too difficult for Nokia to write a repair utility.

Yes, it may be a database problem on the Communicator's side, but how could it have become "corrupt"? I don't remember anything significant changing, and before, it worked perfectly every time.

I played around lots of time with the database. I looked at the text file and found all records. I do not know if and when the software compacts.
I moved all records ( emtied it though) and moved them back. The database was 50% smaller. But still I have there 1 group that I do not have at all.
And once it is deleting some record in Organizer , then putting it back.
Shitty software. But I would like to know if it is solved in 3.62. The database software is in that part you know.
So no way to upgrade yourselve.
Also copying manually from the communicator to my PC does not work. The PC Suite software does make a backup, but has other problems ( after max of 3 or 6 bups it hangs)
